Electric-types harness electricity itself, with powers to generate, store, and control it. Their attacks often inflict Paralysis, giving them a disruptive edge in battle. They are typically very fast and excel in special offense, making them dangerous sweepers.
These Pokémon thrive in many environments, from forests and plains to urban centers and power plants. Their versatility in habitat mirrors their role as reliable partners in both offense and support.
While many resemble animals tied to electricity, others take inspiration from man-made objects. Examples include the Magnemite and Voltorb lines, as well as Rotom, which embodies electrical devices directly.
There are many Pokémon who are Ground-type that share their typing with either Rock, Steel, and possibly even Normal-type. Also, Pokémon may not be Ground-type, but it's Rock, Steel, or Normal, there's a good chance they're running Earthquake because of its high power. In Steel's case, Earthquake covers its Fire weakness. So, running a Fighting-type move when you're weak to the Ground-type could be super effective in covering that weakness.
Be aware of moves like Magnet Rise or abilities like Levitate to help combat your Ground-type weakness. Eelektross has no weaknesses due to being an Electric Pokémon with Levitate.
Electric Pokémon form an imperfect type triangle with Water and Ground, meaning that these three types are all super effective to each other but they do not resist each other.
If you have good options you like for your team that are Water or Ground, consider adding them. If you do so, you can continue to round out your team with a perfect Water-Fire-Grass triangle or Ground-Grass-Poison triangle. You also have some imperfect options for triangles with Ground-Ice-Fire/Steel.
