Ice-type Pokémon are adapted to survive extreme cold, thriving in frozen caves, snowy mountains, and polar regions. They can control ice freely, often using it in battle to freeze opponents solid.
Many Ice-type moves have the chance to freeze a target completely, leaving them unable to act until thawed.
Ice Pokémon are the epitome of a glass cannon. Offensively, they have an advantage over some good types, but defensively they have some struggles. Ice Pokémon only resist Ice moves, and they have four weaknesses: Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel.
To combat some of their defensive weaknesses, Ice-type Pokémon have two distinct options for them.
The weather condition Snow raises the defense stats of all Ice Pokémon by 50%
During Snow, Ice-types have access to the move Aurora Veil, a combination of Reflect and Light Screen that decreased the damage from opponents' moves.
*An Ice-type Pokémon trainer should take advantage of this as much as possible in addition to having fast options.

Trainer Tips
Exploit their chill: Ice Pokémon strike hard against Flying, Grass, Ground, and Dragon, but they melt under Fire, Rock, Steel, and Fighting.
Expect coverage: Many use Ice Beam or Blizzard, giving them crucial roles as Dragon counters.
Mind their fragility: Ice-types often have low defenses—don’t let them take repeated hits.
Respect the cold: Found on snowy peaks and frozen caves, they embody harsh survival and precision.
