Introduced in Generation II to balance Psychic and Normal-types, Steel was built to be defensive, with tons of resistances and immunity to Poison.
Steel Pokémon are known for amazing defenses against both physical and special attacks. Many are slow and heavy, but some can still hit hard offensively.
Most are based on metal objects (like Magnemite or Honedge), while others are living creatures with steel armor (like Steelix, Bisharp, or Lucario).
Steel Pokémon symbolize the Earth's minerals, alongside Rock and Ground. Their power often comes from their metallic shine, linking them to light-based attacks.
Fun Fact: Steel-types are immune to Poison attacks!
